Drum Poetry
Sick and Strong – for the Day of the Sick

From: Trotzbuch: Rosmarie Vogt-Rippmann & Thomas Gröbly, Basel 2024

Saturday, February 28, 2026 – 5:00 PM

Schwertgasse 15 – Arche – 5330 Bad Zurzach

Drums: Tony Renold
Reading: Martin Bachmann & Thomas Gröbly

Thomas Gröbly’s poems and texts speak of nature, of life and death, and of the author’s serious illness. They oscillate between deadly serious and comical, and were created in everyday situations, from wordplay or philosophical thoughts. Some lack any sense at all. But precisely because of this, they coax a certain lightness out of the heavy.

Gröbly’s poems and texts are hymns to life and love; they wrestle with suffering and contradict violence. The author shows that both living and dying are vibrant, and that support and comfort lie in being connected to all living things.

Thomas Gröbly, an expert and supporter of the Rückenwind plus ward, reads and comments on his poems.

Tony Renold, the well-known jazz drummer, gives the poems wings with sounds and rhythms so that they kiss the sky.

Martin Bachmann, couples therapist, lecturer, and sexologist, reads the texts and gives them life and spirit so that the stars shine.

Free admission – collection – followed by an aperitif

Following the event, there will also be a donation presentation from the Baumgartner Weinbau AG fundraising campaign featuring the 50th-anniversary wine.
